Oh, you know, I have no plans to go to another show ... I have it good right now.
I think on some level, a lot of people were waiting for me to fail.
Q: How is it possible to stay focused on the job at hand when you’re making out with some very hot men?
A: Cold Showers.
Yes, I live in an apartment next to work. The other day I overslept and it was like, "Oh, my God! I'm coming in!" And there was time to get here.
I'm an old lady. I go home, eat a sandwich, learn my lines, and I'm back here.
Q: Did you know GH?
A: I know the soap from years and years of watching it with my babysitter during the summer. Sometime, I might watch it while I was getting ready for an audition, but I wasn't a follower, so I didn't know everything that was going on. I knew of Sarah's work and that she was a wonderful actress, strong and smart and ballsy--that seems to be a fitting word.
I didn't come into the role completely blind, although I didn't know what I was auditioning for when I auditioned. No one told me to play the role in any certain way - just to go in there and have a good time.
What was a bit daunting was that people would come out from the [control] booth after we would do a scene and I would hear, 'That was good, but this is how Sarah did Carly.’ That was hard.
I think it was frightening for them to lose such a big staple of the show. Everyone was trying to make me look like her and explain to me how she would do it. All I could do was hear what they said and interpret it as if I was playing this character.
It’s good to be able to speak your mind. I like that about Carly. She’s very straightforward, but she’s got a lot of baggage. She’ll get from A to Z, but it’s nonsequential.
Q: What has been the most difficult scene for you to tape since coming to
A: Carly and Sonny in
The character of Carly always has something in her mouth...
We are very fortunate as actors because most people don’t make their living that way.
